Fifth, the jubilee edition of the International Mobile Film Festival, the Mobile Festival was held between 19 and 29 November in Skopje.

On November 29, at 8:00 pm at the Frosina Cinema, the ICF held the main evening of the Mobile Festival 2014, which was attended by the previous winners of the Mobile Festival, followed by Junior, domestic, regional and international films and awards. Following the awards was a concert by the band “Total Relaxation”.

The accepted films were judged by an international jury: Arben Sharku – Director of the Kosovo Center for Cinematography, Zoran Nikodinov – Media Expert, Burim Musliu – Costume Designer.

The winners of the Mobile Festival Awards 2014 are the following films:

Best Perpetoom Movie Pet, Jose Tonny Marquez (Venezuela)

The Most Invented Mimi of the movie “Breakthrough”, Haktan Kaan Icel (Turkey)

Mimi for the most original story “Aladdin and the Twins”, Jikica Jovanovic (Serbia)

Best Prize Winner “Nebitie”, Goran P. Vukelic, SGGU “Zdravko Cvetkovski”, “We Are the Best” (Macedonia)

Best Film Award from the Junior Ecological Program, Stefan Mitrov, SETU “Mihajlo Pupin”, “We Are the Best” (Macedonia) – 3000 Euro ESRA University Scholarship

The deadline to apply for the Mobile Festival 2014 was November 20th. Films arriving after that date will compete at the Mobile Festival 2015.

Films from the Junior, Competitive, Regional and International Programs of the Mobile Festival will be screened in other cities of Macedonia this year as well.

Mobil Festival is of international character and is the only festival of its kind in the region. This year, special emphasis was placed on regional co-operation. Movies from the Mobile Festival get their promotion in the biggest world festivals of this kind like:

A screening of films by the Eye On Films Festival – France program was held on November 28.
On November 27 at 4:00 pm at the Frosina Cinema, ICF held a workshop “New Business Model for Independent Film Distribution” with Nawid Sarem, project coordinator from Eye On Films, France. This new business model promotes debut films and new authors through joint promotion of film festivals and media by local distributors. The workshop was supported by the Macedonian Film Agency.

The program continued with the screening of films by the Festival On Films Festival – France.

A workshop on “Drawing a smartphone animation” with Dimitar Dimitrov, animator from Bulgaria, winner of the Best Animation Award at the Weekly Festival was held on November 21 at 3:30 pm at the Josip Broz Tito Gymnasium in Skopje. Hollywood;

A screening of the movie “Lost in Bosnia” was held at ESRA University on November 19 at 2pm. This omnibus project was made with the iPhone and iPad by 11 students at the Sarajevo Film Academy studying film.fact. This program was developed by one of the most prominent authors of today’s film, Hungarian director Bela Tarr.

The film that won Best Animation award at the Weekly Hollywood Film Festival in Los Angeles, a short animated cartoon “Bloody Meat Day” by Bulgaria’s Dimitar Dimitrov, was screened at the Mobile Festival in Skopje.

The author of the film, Dimitar Dimitrov, was a special guest on this year’s edition of the Mobile Festival and held a workshop on November 21st at the Josip Broz Tito Gymnasium in Skopje.

The animation is based on the story of Dylan Elenkov. “Bloody Gum Day” is about a poor “kamikaze artist” who feeds on his work, but not in the traditional way.

In addition to this magnificent award, Blood Blood Day is the recipient of six other awards, including the Union of Bulgarian Film Actors at the Varna International Animated Film Festival, the BG Videologic Award at the Videogolika Festival in the same city and an award special from a Toronto-based smartphone film festival.
